JACK KENNEY: FOR SUSTAINABILITY, EQUITY AND PROGRESS IN MARIN WATER DIVISION 2

In November, our community faces a critical choice that will determine the future management of Marin’s water. I am running for the MMWD Board because I believe in a future where our water is managed efficiently, sustainably, and with the utmost consideration for every member of our community.

My interest in environmental and water issues goes back to my childhood in Marin and has continued steadily to today. In a previous Marin Water Board campaign, I knocked on over 5,000 doors and spoke to many Marin residents at shopping centers and recreation areas. I am committed to understanding how my constituents feel about the issues facing them and to spending the time necessary to properly and thoughtfully represent you.

Many residents are concerned about ever increasing water bills, and I favor a more balanced approach to managing cost, supply, and effect on the environment. I will promote policies that place a greater emphasis on keeping costs down.

My Priorities

While increasing supply is necessary, conservation remains the most financially frugal approach to drought mitigation.

Our aging infrastructure needs updating to ensure reliability and to incorporate water saving technologies.

Fire mitigation can be improved with more robust data studies.
