WHY JACK KENNEY?

I grew up in Marin, attended Marin Public Schools and the College of Marin and have spent many years working for the preservation of Point Reyes National Seashore. I am the director of Point Reyes Public Advocacy (PRPA), a non profit I founded in 2022. I work with environmental organizations and academic experts and have met with local elected officials and lobbied government agencies.

My background in public land and water protection has equipped me with the unique insights and experience necessary to lead MMWD into the future - where our natural resources are safeguarded, and every community member has access to affordable, sustainable water.

In 2022, I ran for the MMWD Board in an adjacent district, and knocked on over 5,000 doors, learning about the concerns of Marin residents of all types. Starting two years ago, I both watched and physically attended both MMWD board meetings and Marin County Supervisor meetings to familiarize myself with the important issues facing our community.

My work has always been about balancing the needs of the environment with the needs of the community, making me the ideal candidate to address the challenges facing our water district.
